Allard M type
Due to bereavement, I’m reluctantly selling our 1948 M type. We bought it
supposedly fully restored, but it has been the subject of considerable
expenditure and a great deal of work completed to an exacting standard in
our ownership – an eye watering £110,000 pounds worth. All bills can be
seen. It has a Ford mercury engine and a 5 speed Toyota gearbox. A large
capacity fuel tank and high capacity radiator have been installed. It has been
fitted with a roll cage and Corbeau rally seats and harnesses. It is fast,
comfortable and easy to drive. We drove it all around South East Asia with
no problems at all. It is rally ready and an absolute bargain at £50,000. It is
pictured here looking ravishing in Cambodia.

Mel Herman’s multi concours award winning M type restored to an extremely high standard.
Completely rebuilt 4.5 litre engine at time of restoration with an excellent 4 speed all synchro gearbox conversion retaining the torque tube and a 3.27 CW&P.
It will drive very and has with many mods’ cons fitted including radio and seat belts.

The prototype Allard JR (JR 3401) recently rediscovered following the death of its owner. Probably the most-raced and, likely, the most successful Allard race car. Many outright wins and podiums in the United States in the 1950’s driven early on by Goldschmidt and then primarily by Bob Bucher. Car needs a complete restoration.
