Just received thru the Post, my 2021 AOC calendar and the eagerly awaited publication of Des Sowerby’s “History of the pre-war Specials”.
The calendar is a lovely thing – it’s good to have those big, bright photos of Allards in/of competition; and the Sowerby publication looks, at early glance, to be exactly what l’d been hoping for. It appears to be the first ever fully researched and detailed exposition of these mighty early cars. Impressive.
Bl**dy well done to all concerned at AOC – my thanks to you! Tim Wilson.

I have yet to read the Specials book but will have time over Christmas so am looking forward to that.
Top marks all round!!

However, that’s not the only news… Alan Allard’s new book “Allard, the complete story” – the definitive one on SHA and the cars – has also just been published. I ordered a copy last night: £35.99 incl. postage!
Tim.
23 December 2020 at 5:08 PM #5660Peter LoveParticipantYes its good to see the 2021 calendar, congratulations to everyone involved, but I personally would have liked to have seen all the class winners from the USA run concours competition featured plus some of those lovely period ‘type’ pictures as seen in the 2020 calendar. To help the AOC I would have been interested in sponsoring and publishing it.
