Does this facility exist? If it does, please let me know how to do it!
Tia, Tim Wilson.
14 March 2021 at 6:36 PM #5816Ben StevensKeymasterI don’t believe it does…yet…but you can find people’s email addresses in the members handbook (that’s what I do).
I keep meaning to look you up actually Tim, I think we possibly both have very similar questions so a chat sometime would be really good.
15 March 2021 at 10:31 AM #5818Ron DowleParticipantBen / Tim. Question for you. Would an update and link from the club Facebook account help ? I am trying to workout if using Facebook is helpful. I noted other clubs like BDC VSCC. Gilbern And Prescott are very active on Facebook as well as their websites. Any comments greatly appreciated. RON
15 March 2021 at 10:33 AM #5819Ron DowleParticipantPS. I keep meaning to contact you Ben, I did not think about looking on the website for your email address ?
15 March 2021 at 12:36 PM #5821Ben StevensKeymasterIf you want to offer members more of a “members only” benefit e.g. the technical forum then the website is better, but facebook is good for attracting new members possibly. I’m not a huge fan to be honest, if they website is good then there’s a risk of spreading ourselves too thin if we do both.
my email is craptiger at (hotmail) doc c0m if anyone needs it
15 March 2021 at 2:06 PM #5822BartRatkiewiczParticipantWhat is a PM message?
15 March 2021 at 3:37 PM #5823Ron DowleParticipantI assume PM. Is personal message ??? A sort of private email system ?? Let’s hope Ben and Tim can explain the system / advantages. I use the PM system on Facebook to contact a few of our club members. But like Ben I am not a great fan of Facebook.
15 March 2021 at 4:58 PM #5824Tim WilsonParticipantThanks for the responses, folks. Yes, PM is ‘personal message’, and can be of great assistance, should one wish to discuss with just one person, say, the minutiae of a particular subject, and so avoiding being a bore to other members on the forum. I’d actually also prefer not to have to use F/book if there’s a choice – and instead use an internal AOC facility which merely draws upon the fact that AOC will have all members’ Email details. The TR Register, of which l’m also a member, uses this latter system – and it works very nicely. Best, Tim.
15 March 2021 at 5:06 PM #5825BartRatkiewiczParticipantEmail or whatsapp .
16 March 2021 at 11:23 AM #5826Tim WilsonParticipantI think the TR Register system uses Email, Mel. Definitely not W/App. T.
