Dave, Ben   Many thanks fro the comments, I think a lot more road runs next year are the way to go. Defiantly a oil and filter change are now top of my list of jobs to do especially as the cars possibly only done a very few road miles over the last 10 years. If I find time Christmas day a Compression test and a quick run up the road.

How’s the engine looking Ron?  Have you been regularly using it…before it gets too cold and there’s salt everywhere?

I would use it for a bit to establish how much oil it uses  how much oil pressure there is when hot  and to see how it runs in general. If it has stood for a fair while changing the engine oil and filter, if it has one  and using it may well work wonders. Who knows.

Do I need to rebuild ?  Engine starts and runs fine, smokes a bit whilst driving. But if I don’t start and run the engine regularly and leave it a couple of weeks the smoke from the exhaust is terrible.
