Very interesting, Geoff, and yes, a giggle to drive! Not sure whether l'd want to keep the coil in that position if l were running it...  Among my back-collection of Classic Car mag, l recall, in the 'Discovered' section, a story + pic of a Riley trials Special with a flathead Ford V8. The car was dilapidated but eminently restorable, and so far as l'm aware, it was due to be rebuilt... This was back around the 1990s, l think. l wonder whereit is now? Tim.
